Description

Chesworth Farm is an attractive countryside site on the south-east edge of Horsham town. It consists of 90 acres of wildflower meadows, grazing pasture, hedgerows, riverside and ponds and is open to the public every day of the year. The site is managed as a quiet area for wildlife conservation and informal recreation. It can be visited on foot, as part of Horsham’s Riverside Walk which follows the course of the River Arun; by bike, as part of the Horsham to Southwater ‘Peddlars Way’ cycle route; or on horse, via Bridleway 1670 which runs North-South through the Farm. And, of course, Chesworth Farm can be visited in its own right, with its network of paths running through the hay meadows and riverside fields, with impressive views over Horsham town and neighbouring farms and opportunities to see a whole host of farmland wildlife.

There are also plenty of opportunities to become actively involved in Chesworth Farm, with volunteer conservation works and wildlife surveying on the site, and a regular programme of events and activities for all ages.

A former part of the historical Chesworth Estate and on the border of Denne Park, the farm is now managed for wildlife and for informal recreation. The Farm consists of eleven fields interspersed with ancient hedgerows and ponds, bordered by the River Arun.
